Poetry by Aadhya Banerjee (Poem 5) - 'The Listener'

Image
The Listener By Aadhya Banerjee  Listen with heart, and soul so bright, Glisten with empathy, day and night. Dress your ears with love's gentle touch, And let the words pour in, without a clutch. Don't speak, just absorb and understand, Be strong, yet gentle, like a helping hand. The light of listening brings new birth, Hope and joy that touch the heart's earth. When words are spoken, and blessings rare, Listening with love shows we truly care. In the light of compassion, our spirits soar, A beautiful world, where love forever more.

Whenever I try to smell a rose, I feel a kind of allergy in nose.  Whenever I sit on a chair, Strong wind blows my hair.  Whenever I try to sleep in my bed, Over thinking comes in my head.  Sometimes I see a colourful dream  That I ride a mountain of cream.  Whenever I get afraid,  My ears get red. When my mother bits my arm,  I feel no more harm. When I want to be a writer, My writing skill says, "use your finger". Whenever I cut my nails, I remember my incoming mails.  Whenever I write this with my heart,  My brain thinks I am getting smart.

My Best Friend  I wear my best friend on my eye ! When I cry, I keep him aside. He is my most helpful friend. I have to do a check up of him. There are many colours, mine is red. He helps me to see. It becomes foggy sometimes. Yup ! my glasses are my best friend. I gave him a name - "Sissy" ! I love him so much. Sometimes, I have to adjust him. I can't live without him. He helps me every time; When I am tired, when I am happy. He is neither a Teddy nor a boy, He is my dear spectacles. - Aadhya Banerjee

What Should I Be ? When I think I should be a doctor, I think no!  Because I get scared of niddle.  When I think I should be a pilot, I think no ! Because I get scared of heights. When I think I should be a teacher,  I think I don't study, And I will teach them what?  When I think I should be a navy  I am scared of deep Oceans. When I think I should be a lawyer,  How will I protect law? When my mom makes law for me. When I think I should be a singer,  My throat becomes dry like a goat! I don't know what God had thought for me! - Aadhya Banerjee

From where did I come? From where did I come? When I was not present. Whom did my mother feed with her hands When I was not present? Whom did my mother give chocolate? To whom my mother told bed time stories when I was not present ? What did my mother do? From Where did I come? From Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto ? And to whom my mother prayed for me ? Was I an alien, a ghost or a God? huh! Did I have any organ ? To whom my mother called 'Babu' ? where did I live? who made me? Did I make any friends there? How was my life? Do I want to be there again? nope! I must ask my mother to get confirmed. - Aadhya Banerjee
